1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and sauté until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
During the last minute of cooking, add the pineapple chunks and stir until heated through.
Remove from heat and garnish with green onions. Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Substitute chicken with firm tofu or shrimp for variations.
