Ingredients
Scale
3 cups all-purpose flour
2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 cup warm water (100°F to 110°F)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
4 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp garlic powder
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture while stirring until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a half-inch thick rectangle. Cut into strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with shredded cheese immediately after baking.
Notes
Experiment with adding Italian herbs or extra cheese for additional flavor.
