Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Beat in the egg and peanut butter until fully combined.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set and centers remain soft. Cool on sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  •  For a different flavor profile, substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark or white chocolate chips.
  •  Add chopped nuts or sprinkle sea salt on top before baking for added texture and flavor.
