Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 untreated cedar plank
  • 1 lb salmon fillet (wild-caught preferred)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Coat the salmon fillet generously with this mixture.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  4. Place the marinated salmon skin-side down on the soaked cedar plank. Top with chopped dill or parsley.
  5. Grill the cedar plank for about 15-20 minutes until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
  6. Carefully remove the plank from the grill and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Fresh herbs can be swapped for your favorites like thyme or tarragon for different flavors.
  •  For added moisture, place thin slices of lemon or onion on top of the salmon while grilling.
