Ingredients
Scale
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 inch fresh ginger, grated
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
½ cup vegetable oil (for frying)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
In a bowl, combine chicken pieces and set aside.
In another bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes to create the sauce.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add chicken in batches and cook until golden brown and crispy (5-7 minutes).
Toss in minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for about 1 minute.
Pour the sauce over the chicken, stirring until well coated.
Garnish with green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
For added crunch, consider double frying the chicken pieces.
You can also substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein option.
Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of red pepper flakes or use sweet chili sauce for a milder flavor.
