Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 ounces spaghetti
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare shrimp by peeling and deveining if necessary. Mince the garlic.
Boil salted water in a large pot, add spaghetti, and cook until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Reserve some pasta water before draining.
In a skillet over medium heat, melt olive oil and butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque (about 3-4 minutes).
Stir in fresh lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
Combine drained pasta with the sauce in the skillet, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency. Mix well.
Serve topped with chopped parsley.
Notes
For added nutrition, incorporate spinach or cherry tomatoes.
Adjust heat level by varying red pepper flakes; substitute parsley with basil for a different flavor.
