  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add sesame oil until it shimmers.
  2. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned and no longer pink, roughly 5-7 minutes.
  4. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar; simmer for 3-4 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in chopped green onions.
  6. Serve over cooked rice in bowls.
