  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 ½ pounds)
  • ½ cup smooth bourbon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together bourbon, brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil in a mixing bowl.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag or baking dish; pour half of the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  4. Remove chicken from marinade (discard used marinade). Grill chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Brush remaining marinade on chicken during the last minute of grilling for added flavor.
  6. Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
