Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 ½ pounds)
½ cup smooth bourbon
¼ cup brown sugar
¾ cup ketchup
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the marinade by whisking together bourbon, brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil in a mixing bowl.
Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag or baking dish; pour half of the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
Remove chicken from marinade (discard used marinade). Grill chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Brush remaining marinade on chicken during the last minute of grilling for added flavor.
Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For maximum flavor, marinate overnight.
Experiment with different seasonings or add honey for extra sweetness.
